Scott L. Henratty is an experienced and talented trial lawyer. He litigates in the practice areas of Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, Premise Liability (including Negligent Security), Product Liability (including Mesothelioma cases from Asbestos exposure), Motor Vehicle Liability (including Trucks, Trains, Boats and Personal Watercraft.

Mr. Henratty has tried over 40 jury trial cases to verdict as solo or first chair counsel. He has also assisted as second chair counsel and co-counsel on numerous other matters including jury and non-jury cases throughout the State of Florida.

Mr. Henratty was formerly of counsel to Hawkins & Parnell, LLC, a national litigation defense firm in their Atlanta, Georgia office.  He practiced exclusively in their complex asbestos litigation department, defending multiple Fortune 500 corporations against asbestos mesothelioma product liability claims.  As Florida trial counsel for these national corporations, Mr. Henratty was responsible for conducting complex pretrial practices and reporting to national, regional and in-house counsel on the status of the Florida trial court litigation.

During his first ten years of practice Mr. Henratty was an associate at three prestigious state wide insurance defense firms where he represented a multitude of national insurance companies. Representative corporate insurance clients and self-insured’s have included State Farm, Travelers, The Hartford, Zurich, Enterprise Rental Car, Winn Dixie Corporation and Bally's fitness.

In 1996 Mr. Henratty earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Mississippi College School of Law, and interned with the office of the Mississippi Attorney General.  Mr. Henratty earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Law from the University of Florida in 1994.  Mr. Henratty has attended prestigious trial advocacy programs at both the University of Florida Levin College of Law and Stetson University School of Law.

Mr. Henratty is admitted to the Florida Bar, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals as well as the U.S. District Courts of the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. 

Mr. Henratty has been a member of the Florida Justice Association, Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, Broward County Bar Association, Palm Beach County Bar Association, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National Organization of DRI and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
